Credit Science,
AI-Amplified.
The future rarely looks like the past. That's the most dangerous problem in credit risk — and the one most models aren't built to handle.
For years, we positioned Criat an advanced credit analytics company. But the AI wave forced me to rethink: what does "analytics" even mean today?
AI is reshaping data analysis fast, and it's very good at it — as long as the future resembles the past. But in credit risk, that assumption breaks exactly when it matters most. 2008 didn't look like the past. COVID didn't look like the past. Every time a crisis hits, most models fail together, because they're fundamentally learning patterns from history. What history hasn't seen, they can't predict.
Criat does something different. Our models don't just learn historical patterns — they capture the underlying mechanics that drive credit risk. Default is the classic rare-event problem: sparse data, complex drivers, extreme consequences. This is precisely where pure data-driven approaches are most fragile, and where scientific modeling is most valuable.
So we redefined ourselves: Credit Science, AI-Amplified. Science is our foundation for predicting the unknown. AI is the tool that scales it. This isn't a marketing slogan — it's our bet on where this industry is heading.
